My soapbox

Last week I was up at 3am feeding my baby, so what better time to check facebook. I came across a post from a guy that I don't know, I think we are relatives somehow. Anyway this is what he posted: "Why is it that women think it is okay to breastfeed in public? Especially in a restaurant!!!!!!! Either go in the bathroom or go out to your freaking car!!!"
I wanted so badly to comment on his post. Since we don't know each other I thought that would be a little strange. I am not one who likes to breastfeed in public, but I don't believe in anyway is it wrong, discusting or taboo. If I had to though, I totally would, with no second thoughts. Nursing is the most natural thing in the world, it is what our BREASTS were intended for. Anyway I don't know a man alive who would turn their head if they happened to see a boob.
Some of the comments that he got really ripped into him, and some agreed. Mostly the people who were for it were women, which makes sense, but there were some men. This guy doesn't have any children, so it would be interesting to see what happens when they are out to eat and they have their first child with them and his wife says the baby is hungry. Is he going to make her go out into the car for a half hour, or into the bathroom while he gets to finish his meal. I don't think so. Why do people feel that going into the bathroom to eat is a good idea. Would you want to do that. I don't think it is a good idea for my baby to do that. Anyway this topic really got to me, and I just needed to get on my soapbox for a little bit. I would love to hear your thoughts on this topic.

Christmas 2010

We started our Christmas parties off with Brandon's family. His Mom does a party at her house everyear on a day other than Christmas or Christmas Eve so that everyone can attend. I think this is very smart, that way we are not running around on Christmas Day when we would rather be relaxing.

All of the grandkids got cute little robes which they wore the entire night.

Yeah this is the best we could do. Brandon just barely poking through. I am blaming this pic of me on being prego. It does weird things to you.

Christmas morning.

Yep I got a new vaccum. Its no Kerby, but it works so I am happy.

I love how they always get so excited for the cheapest toy you buy. Kylee's this year was a barbie mermaid that changes color in the water.

The big unvailing....... Buzz Lightyear. Does it get any better than that when you are Austin? I think not.

Kylee is always wanting to help me cook, so we got her an easy bake oven so she can do her own cooking. She never wants to eat her own creations. Hmmm.......

The girls. Mom somehow skipped out on all the pics.

The boys, looking at different cameras.

Halloween

For Halloween this year we went to Brandon's Mom's house. She lives in a complex that makes it great for trick-or-treating. Austin wanted to be Buzz Lightyear so bad, he wouldn't take any other suggestions. Luckily my sister-in-law had a costume and lent it to us. Kylee wanted to be Arial. I found a mermaid costume at Costco, but Kylee informed me that Arial's outfit was green so she decided to be Arial's best friend.

Kylee as a mermaid (Arial's best friend)

At Grammy's they decorated cupcakes and made cute little vampire teeth.

Pumpkin Patch

Every year there is a farm by my house that has a pick your own pumpkin Patch. They have cute little picture displays and wagons and wheelbarrows, to gather your pumpkins in. We took the kids and let them pick out a couple of pumpkins. They had so much fun. They thought it was pretty neat they got to run around through all those pumpkins. We only had a few ouchies as they tripped over the pumpkin vines, but all in all in was a lot of fun. They even had a little corn maze for the kids. We let the kids lead the way, and only got lost once.

Kylee insisted on pulling Austin all by herself.

Their cute display.
Kylee would not get on the tractor. This is as high as she would get.

Birthdays

So far this year we have celebrated 2 birthdays. First was Kylee's 4th birthday. We celebrated at Brandon's sisters house for all of the bdays in Jan and Feb. The kids decorated their own birthday cupcakes and made a big mess, of course. The next party was with my family. We went to TGI Fridays and ate until we were going to pop. Then we came back to our house and had cake and ice cream:) MMMM....... I made the cake, but I am not sure what to think of it. We had fun though, so that is all that matters.

For Austins 2nd bday we had pizza and cake and ice cream at our house. Austin had so much fun opening up his presents. He got some pretty cool stuff. Brandon and I were trying to find a basketball hoop for him, but had no success. Lucky for us Rachel and Mike came to the rescue and bought him one. He loves it and drags it everywhere. He won't shoot only dunk, but eventually he will get it.

Winter Fun

It has been a long time since I posted anything, so I thought I would start out the new year, with a new post. During one of the big snow storms we had in December, the kids wanted to go out and play. I thought since I needed to shovel, I would let them. They did really good at first, until their fingers got cold.(Note to self: buy the kids decent gloves). Poor Austin had to use some of Kylee's old mittens, which aren't meant for actually playing IN the snow. This little excursion outside was short lived, but we had fun while it lasted.

Had to play with a rake, since I ran over the shovel.

Such big helpers!!!

It's FREEEEEZZZZZZING!!!!!

Warm inside with red, snotty noses.
